Advance protection process
- Before you start wearing them -
Wakon sneakers are made from a combination of delicate kimono fabric and genuine leather. To maintain their new beauty for as long as possible, it is very important to protect them before you even start wearing them.
Use of waterproof and stain-resistant spray
Kimono fabric can show stains and color transfer, so you can protect your shoes from dirt and rain by coating them with a waterproof and stain-resistant spray before use.
Points to consider when choosing a spray:
- Colorless and transparent, suitable for both leather and textiles
- Not only waterproof but also stain and oil repellent
How to use:
- In a well-ventilated outdoor location, spray about 30cm away from the shoes, ensuring that the entire surface is evenly covered.
- Drying time is approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
- If necessary, two coats are recommended.

*Some sprays may not be compatible with certain materials, so be sure to test them in an inconspicuous area before use.
Protects the sole and leather
Covering the soles and leather parts that are prone to wear with a transparent protective film will prevent wear. This will not only maintain the beauty of the appearance, but also allow you to enjoy your shoes for a longer period of time.
Care after use
Kimono sneakers are one-of-a-kind items that change appearance every time you wear them. The key to maintaining their beauty and comfort for a long time is to take care of them daily.
Remove dust and dirt from the surface
After wearing your shoes, gently remove any dust or dirt from the surface of your shoes with a soft brush or dry cloth.
Kimono fabric is sensitive to friction and moisture, so it is important not to rub it too hard.

Removing dirt from the sole
Use a brush to remove any sand or dirt that has gotten into the grooves of the sole. It's easier to remove when the shoes are dry, so it's best to do this immediately after use.
Small dark spots and scuff marks can be removed by gently rubbing with a sneaker eraser or a regular white eraser. For heavy dark spots, you can also lightly rub with a dry melamine sponge.

Care for the kimono fabric
If you are concerned about stains, apply a small amount of neutral detergent to a dry towel and gently pat the surface to remove the stains.
Afterwards, be sure to wipe off any moisture with a dry cloth and allow to dry completely in a well-ventilated, shady area.

× Avoid wetting directly with water × Avoid rubbing detergent onto the product as this may cause discoloration and deterioration of the fibers.

Leather maintenance
It is recommended to regularly apply leather cream to genuine leather to prevent it from drying out and cracking. Colored creams can cause uneven coloring, so it is best to choose a colorless type.

Tips for storage
When storing shoes, avoid direct sunlight and humidity and keep them in a well-ventilated place. Stuffing them with shoe trees or paper will help prevent them from losing their shape or wrinkling. Leather shoes are especially prone to losing their shape, so it's important to care for them when you're not wearing them.
Leaving the inside of your sneakers humid can cause odors and mold. After use, use a shoe dryer or put newspaper inside them to absorb the moisture, allowing you to continue wearing them comfortably.

A little effort before putting on your shoes can make a big difference in both their appearance and lifespan.
"Wakon" is a pair of shoes that will repay you the more you treat them with care.
