Enjoy wearing your shoes
- To prevent "shoes laughing" -
"Shoes laughing" refers to when shoes are ill-fitting, causing the opening to widen and fold over, making the shoes appear to be laughing with a big mouth. Even a cherished pair of shoes can easily lose their shape and compromise both beauty and comfort if they don't fit properly.
At Wakon, we believe that choosing the right size is very important for you to wear your shoes for a long time and cherish them. Before purchasing, please measure your actual foot size and choose the perfect size according to the guide.

How to measure your feet
- Before purchasing, let's measure your correct size -
Shoes are not just about their appearance; "comfort" is also very important. Wakon shoes, in particular, are made with sturdy leather and construction, and by choosing the right size for your feet, you can experience their true fit and ease of walking.
By measuring, you can more accurately choose the size that best suits you.
What you need
- Paper that can accommodate your foot
- Measuring tape
- Writing implement
Items to measure
- Foot length: From the heel to the longest part of the toe
- Foot width/Instep width: The straight distance from the base of the big toe to the base of the little toe
- Foot circumference/Instep circumference: The circumference around the highest part of the instep
Foot length / Foot width・Instep width
Measure the longest part from your heel to your toes.
- Draw a right angle on paper with horizontal and vertical lines.
- Align your heel with the intersection and trace the outline of your foot.
- The longest part from the heel to the toe is the "foot length". The part from the base of the big toe to the base of the little toe is the "foot width/instep width".

Foot circumference・Instep circumference
Measure the circumference around the outermost points of the base of your big toe and little toe.

Compare your measurements with the size chart and select your size. If your foot circumference exceeds the size chart's foot circumference by +6mm, the size may not be suitable. If in doubt, it is recommended to choose one size larger.
How to choose shoes
- Which type are you? Tips for choosing shoes by type -
Wakon shoes are lace-up, so you can adjust the fit according to your instep height and foot width. We recommend choosing shoes based on your actual foot measurements, rather than relying on the size of shoes you usually wear.
High instep type

People with high insteps who find it difficult to tie laces or feel pressure.
Consider one size larger or loosen the laces to adjust the fit.
Wide foot type

People with wide feet who find snug sizes too tight.
Choosing 0.5cm to 1cm larger than your actual measurement will provide more room and comfort. Prioritize "instep width" and "instep circumference" over foot length when choosing.
Narrow foot type

People with narrow feet whose feet tend to move inside the shoes.
Choose the exact foot length size and secure your feet firmly with laces. Adding a thick insole can also improve stability.
Narrow heel type

For those whose heels tend to slip out of the shoe opening.
